How crucial is CSF cooling package with S/C upgrade?

http://www.bimmerworld.com/Cooling/C...kaAmQeEALw_wcB

Looking to purchase an ESS 650 kit mainly for STREET use.
I assume that upgraded cooling compements will only be beneficial. I do not think I will need to upgrade power steering, however is the oil/radiator/transimisson coolers worth upgrading?

Thanks in advance!

For street use you don’t need it.

If one day you need a dct cooler upgrade -usually only for tracking- i suggest you get the do88 one.

dogbone did actual testing on it and it works well

For the street you are just fine with everything stock

I would upgrade the main heat exchanger to the larger VF unit and i'd also upgrade the radiator if possible. I had zero issues with my water tempatures but the VF exchanger goes in front of the radiator so that is why i'm recommending the upgrade. if you do go with a different exchanger, then you can upgrade the size of the oem oil cooler.

Doing the whole package I think is doing a bit much, If you are keeping the factory blower heat exchanger I would do the CSF oil cooler only. But if you are going to do the VF upgraded heat exchanger you shouldn't need a oilcooler upgrade after that. The ess and vf base heat exchanges block the oilcooler which will result in timing being pulled when the car gets hot during a sprinted run.

What kind of temps are you guys seeing without the cooling? I noticed my temps increase a LOT when getting on it (Harrop SC Kit) compared to being N/A. I've seen the needle creep up to 255 mark when having fun on the highway.

seems pretty high. did the harrop kit cooler block the oilcooler as well?

Nope, the oil cooler is still in the front factory location. The Harrop heat exchanger is behind that then comes the factory radiator.
