Spark Plug change at 50k miles

So i changed my Spark plugs 2 days ago... the tank at that time was 3/4 full. I usually averages 230 miles on a tank, computer reads 21.5 MPG - 21.9 MPG from monday to friday. Couple of reason why i know it is pretty consistence is because... i go to work monday to friday so the traffic and street doesn't change much. And i just got this car so i pay alot of attention to this gas milage as my last car was a 4 cylinder!

2003 Z4 3.0i (Fully loaded) with 47000 miles.

The plug that was pulled out looks worn out, but not oily. Looks like a layer of gray dust is on it.

I swapped it out for NGK Iridium IX, which i got on autoswayparts.ca for $7.80 each. The car feels a lot smoother and better yet, my computer reads 23 MPG today with 1/4 of a tank left. The light usually comes on at about 230 miles, but today i am at 230 and still got 2 more bars.

I am really suprised about this car, it does the same milage as my mazda 3 2.0, except i have to pay for premium gas instead of regular... about 10% difference per tank. Small price to pay for alot of fun!!!!

There you have it! Maintenance makes a difference!

With consideration of ignorance and laziness, and lack of research, are the spark plugs you used the top-of-the-line? If not, please point me in the right direction. TIA
