Can someone help diagnose this leak problem?
Hi all!
I drive a 2008 BMW 128i. I just topped up my coolant a few weeks ago and the coolant tank was completely empty today (super surprising). I don’t track the car at all and mostly do highway driving. Here is a link to a video to help get a diagnosis (I’m on mobile): https://share.icloud.com/photos/0s3j...remium_Outlets Could Someone provide a quick diagnosis and rough quote for this coolant leak fix? I’m pretty sure the head gasket isn’t blown since light smoke from engine heat and the coolant leak started just a few days ago. Thanks in advance everyone! |

Upon further inspection there was some black powder build up around the engine which I wiped down. I assume it’s probably because of the smoke and overheating? Should I be worried about that? I only see smoke after I drive for more than 20-30 minutes. It’s been like this for a few days.
I have two mechanics quoting me $180 for everything to get fixed it. Apparently this is a pretty common problem according to one of them. You think that’s a fair price? |
