Can CCB brakes be replaced with normal ones?

Hi

Interested in a car which unfortunately have carbon ceramic brakes. My question is, when the time comes to replace them, can I just replace with the normal M3 brakes pads and rotors- the blue ones?

Once you drive with them for a while, you'll want to keep them.

Search a bit and you will have a better answer to your question... keep the calipers and replace rotors and booster.

You can now do a direct swap of rotors and pads from an M2 I believe. No booster required anymore.

That is from steel rotors/Blue calipers to steel rotors/CCB caliper swap... the OP has the CCB booster and CCB rotors, and wants to go steel rotors.

Curious OP but why do you consider having CCBs unfortunate? I love my CCBs, they look amazing, zero brake dust, zero brake fade ever, potential to last the life of the car if you don't track it which it doesn't seem like you are since you want to swap in the base iron units.

The only negative I see is the high initial cost and they might limit some aftermarket wheel options.

That's just it. I dont wasn't to spend $8,000++ when its time for replacement. Looking at some CS options and they have CCB.

See this thread. M2 rotors and pads, direct swap.
