Looks great, congrats!
My only advice is more regular maintenance, not the 15k factory recommendation.

Welcome, just picked up a "new" 2016 ourselves.
Changing the oil myself for first time next month. Look into getting Bimmercode so you can customize a few things. Just FYI I'm selling a brand new set of Pirelli summer RFTs, but don't want to ship unless I have to: https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8#post25386668 Enjoy!

Its missing because the previous owner removed it. I'd just remove it completely for a cleaner look. No one needs to know what model it is.. only you.

Looks clean! I agree with Kzang that x-drive badge was probably removed by previous owner. Normally that is a ok thing done for cleaner look. However, and I'm sorry it's my paranoid nature speaking, but I instantly imagined previous owner debadging it, putting piggyback or flash tune on 50i, abusing engine and such lol. Again, that is nothing to worry about, as many of us mod a bit here and there. I would still check dealership printout if available, to check previous maintenance work and such. At the very list I agree with proper oil change interval that is shorter than 15k miles (ouch).

Funny that everyone here thinks de-badging was done either because of mods or just a cleaner look. I always suspect repainting was involved when I see cars de-badged. Almost every time a careful look around the edges shows either a hard paint edge or a small drip somewhere.

Also, keep in mind that OP has 50i - which means much higher chance of previous owner flashing/tuning it. As a rule people who buy 50i - buy it due to their love/need to floor it, tune it etc. Very rarely someone buys 50i accidentally without knowing that 35i exists. Hence, it's better be safe than sorry in this case. Engine in 50i is most expensive part (probably worth more than the car itself lol), so there's that. I'm from Latvia and we have completely different mindset there - similar to what you said - if car has no badge people will think it's been in accident and repainted. I get what you are saying. However, in USA/Canada it's kinda rare for f15 (which just started production in 2014) to be repainted. |

Thanks for the input. Didn't realize that 50i had that kind of reputation, considering most people around me shy away from it now because of engine issues and low MPG (high l/km). In fact, used 50i X5s around me in California tend to be *cheaper* than 35i and 35D's. I'm familiar with de-badging high performance vehicles and why (had an E60 M5 for several years), but with all the stupid high HP American muscle cars (700hp+) around, nobody bothers to pay attention to any 50i BMW around here, especially not an X5 platform.
After shopping for X5's for a year before getting my 2015 X5 diesel, I got quite familiar with seeing repainted bumpers, partially repainted doors/panels (to fix more minor issues), and the like. The side badges are totally in a spot where front door damage could need paint work that requires removing the badges. Just saying from experience, almost every car I looked at over that year that was de-badged in any way had some paint work done...even minor. I wasn't considering significant/full paint jobs...that is not expected 2014+ as you said. Quote:

Strange the dealer missed that during certification. I believe though if evidence of body work was found they could not have CPO'd it. Maybe someone with more info will chime in.
