BimmerTech MMI Android Auto - Any complaints?
Hey Everyone,
I have a 2015 f82 so I'm looking into picking up one of these bimmertech MMI prime kits to be able to connect my android phone to it. (mainly want to use it for Google maps) Before i pulled the trigger i wanted to know if anyone has had any bad experiences with it or if they just plain don't like it. I was also wondering if once i install this, will i completely lose the default interface or does it switch only once it detects my phone? |

There's still a lot of work happening with that app, it has potential but it's not an Android Auto replacement yet. |

I had the CarPlay MMI and the only real complaint was the sound coming out of the AUX channel. The audio fidelity is not the same as if coming out of the native head unit. I just ended up upgrading the whole system to id6. Much better if you like listening to music through your phone.

Yes it’s noticeable and super annoying once the novelty of having CarPlay is over. Podcasts and news feeds are fine but music doesn’t sound that good. FM sounds better. |
