BAD, BAD influence

Greetings F15/F16 owners,

I just want to go on record that all of you guys are bad influences on me. Last week I purchased a 2018 X5 M sport package, Ruby black (BMW Individual). I have already changed the kidney grill to all black. I have a K&N drop-in air filter on the way. I have already used Bimmercode to change a few things.

I'm ready to upgrade the charge pipe, oil filter housing and a BM3 flash tune. I am also looking about debadging the chrome and getting the exhaust tips powder coated black.

Shame on you guys.

I'm looking forward to many happy years of ownership of this amazing SAV.

I am coming from a 2013 Toyota 4runner. It was a very nice vehicle. No issues never even a CEL. 124k miles But I wanted more power and I no longer needed it to tow my sport-bike motorcycle to trackdays.

Attached are photos of my X5, 2013 4runner(sold) and my 2016 Suzuki GSX-R750 (sold). My GSX-R was flash tuned and had a bunch of trick/go fast goodies on it.

Yes, I ordered and had the grill at my house before I had the X5. Oh and window tint this week. I live in Georgia (USA). I'm thinking 30% ceramic tint on the two front windows, Stratos 70% on the entire windshield and may 20% on the back half to black out the windows. thoughts on the tint plan???

If it hasn't already been done, my first step with any black car is to have it professionally paint corrected and ceramic coated. Front window tint never made sense to me and if you sell, the next buyer or dealer may get stuck with fixing (removing it) to be legal.

I have 15% on the front windows. I'm going to do the sunroof next with darkest IR blocking tint available as there is some crazy heat radiating even through the retractable shade.
Tint shop recommend doing windshield too but I am worried about losing clarity.

In any case this car needs as much tinting as you can get away with as the AC can barely keep up with S. Florida heat...and it's not even summer yet.

It makes A LOT of sense down here in south Texas. Nothing dark or anything, just something to block a large portion of the UV entering the vehicle.

Nice X5 OP. We need more pics of it. Interior...
