Want Pictures Please: Your tinted head/fog/tail lights with percentages

I am leaning toward tinting my taillights 35% and leaving the head/fog lights clear since: a) I want full lighting performance and b) I don't think they can tint the foglights and if not they won't match the headlights.

But the headlights are pretty loud especially when I'm blacking out everything else. Also wondering if tinting the taillights 50% would be enough to take the edge off while keeping the lighting performance.

So long story short, if you could post your tint pictures and let me know percentages, that would be great.

TIA!

I’ve never done this on any of my cars so I don’t know, but could you fail the annual vehicle inspection in MA with tinted tails or headlights?

It seems like a lot of new vehicles are coming with a tinted headlight/taillight look. I'm seeing them everywhere. And I doubt everyone is getting their lights tinted.

But that's also why I'm thinking 50%, maybe even all around. Just enough to take the edge off without too much of a hit with lighting performance. My buddy who works for the tinting company has 30% and he notices the difference.

For the headlights, I think more cars are not using the silver reflectors as lighting technology has improved. If you can remove the glass and black out the housing, I don’t think you’d see reduced function, but you’d have the stealthier look. There was a set of headlights like that in the FS section recently:

My guess is that new cars have higher lumen output LEDs on the tinted taillights to compensate.

I never really got this, why would you want to reduce the light output of a safety/warning system that helps alert drivers behind you? I understand the looks piece I guess, but I'd rather give people more time to see me…

I tinted my tail lights and fogs. I don't know if I want to touch the headlights. I do not think headlights need to match the tinted fogs. My car is black and I wanted everything to be black below the headlights.

Yeah I guess that makes sense about the lumens etc.

I agree with you on the performance. That's why I have been debating it.

I just found out that they already coated my headlights and foglights with clear gloss film. So I'll leave the front alone at least for now and see how I like it.

Still debating the taillights. Was planning on 35% but might just go 50% to take off the edge and avoid too much negative attention from the law and issues with inspections.

What percent tint on the taillights? Do you have any pictures?

I don't know the percentage. It's medium. They go by light, medium or dark.

Looks great, and thank you.

I'm going with 35% which is the middle of the road between 50% and 20%. My guy says that it's nice and dark enough without attracting negative attention from the police.

No problem. Yea that would look good. I coded the DRL to be on in the rear so it's never black when I'm driving. Photo taken when the engine is running.

I got a "light" tint on the headlights and a medium on the tail lights. at first I thought the taillights were too dark, but IMO medium tint is perfect.

I got pretty much the same tails but did not commit to the headlights because I like the full brightness. Might black out my interiors at some point, but it takes a week so I'll need to coordinate for that.

Which light tint did you use on the headlights? I got medium on the rear too. It's perfect imo

That's what I used too. I felt it decreased my light output significantly. Did you feel that way?
