Towing Mode Coding
All, excuse me if this has been covered but I couldn't find it in search.
My F15 50i did not come stock with the towing hitch or towing wiring although it says "Preparation For Trailer Tow Hitch" (Code 8SL) in the bimmer.work report. I recently installed a curt hitch and a simple 4 pin wiring harness (forget the brand, non-splice but has sensors over wires) on the car. I added the zoom for trailer hitch in bimmercode but I was wondering if there is a way to add the towing mode that comes with the OEM trailer harness? I think in this mode it changes shift points some and also disables rear PDC and blind spot monitoring while towing. I know this normally activates when a 7 pin connector is plugged into the harness but I believe (not 100% sure on this) it also adds an option to the menu to activate it when something like a bike rack or small trailer is attached as well. Does anybody know how/if this can be coded in (via bimmercode or other) or is only accessible with the OEM harness? |

Hi,
if you installed OEM wiring harness with OEM module, than you can code the car with this options. Car will recognize trailer, show icon on screen, disable PDC, adjust shift points of transmission and it show disable remote trunk opening. Coding can be done via ISTA+ which is OE programming software or by ESYS where you should code following: ADD K235 to HO-Wort, then VO code modules: BDC DSC2, ICAM, KOMBI, NBT... |
