Hey guys - heads-up that there's a pretty special car on BaT right now. It was listed here a while back and as much as I would have loved to buy it then, it was out of my league.

Got to know the seller a little bit at the time and have also stayed in touch. If you believe in the old "don't buy the car, buy the seller" principle, then you should consider this one - he's a long-time collector and BMW fanatic that does everything possible to treat his cars right.

Here's more info from the original listing here: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1563542

And here's current on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2013-bmw-m3-93/

God that's a gorgeous car. Will be interesting to see what it ends at for price.

Side note I find it so weird when a car like that is optioned out but is missing something like EPS. To each their own.

Super nice example.

Looks to be a beaut! I wonder how the replacement bumper and repainted fender will affect the sale. Judging by the current price this early in the game, I suppose not so much.

90% of EAG's high dollar cars have the front bumper painted.

Want this car, but not enough to pay BAT pricing, so I'm stuck refreshing CarMax and Vroom all the time. This car will sell for $60K easy.

Yesterday a 2013 MR DCT M3 w/8K miles sold for $68K on BAT, with their fee that's like $72K. Complete insanity. If inflation/supply chain shortages are driving the prices of cars up across the board, then presumably the buyer profile for these cars hasn't changed. The average E92 M3 buyer is low/mid middle class. So where does the average Joe get $70K for a used car? This type of car, after all, is not a necessity.

It's not the average joe buying that car for 68k plus fees. It's the same guy who probably bought one new and wanted the experience again. High 60s, low 70s is roughly MSRP for most E9x M3s. For a MR Coupe with 8k miles it might have been cheap...you can't get this type of car anymore.

Supply chain has nothing to do with E9x M3's lol they are just rising in price as every generation M3 does once they get trashed by all the idiots and prime examples start appreciating. Funny enough I've been watching the E9x market for over a month now and I would say it makes more sense than a lot of other cars/models.

Of course the supply chain issues are related. No new cars on lots drives buyers to the used car market. I'm planning to buy an E92, my 6th, but I disagree that the E92s market prices are driven by the platform's uniqueness and rarity. More likely it is the speculative nature of the used car market. What EAG did alone before is now being done by udrive and now individual sellers. It isn't just limited to E92s. Look at Vipers. A year ago you could get a second gen low mileage GTS for $55k, now they are being listed for $120K. It's all speculation. You're telling me somehow the GTS more than doubled in value in a year? Your average mass produced sports car was intended for driving enjoyment. Now they've been turned into commodities in the purest sense of the word. Sucks for those of us who want to buy to drive.

I was more interested in just a single front fender repainted. Bumper makes sense as it is a Euro replacement.

Regardless, slick car!

Agreed, the photography is outstanding. Alec Cartio is handling the sale so no surprise

I think for most people the Euro bumper is a strong plus.

Yep, not unusual.

I saw that auction and I agree that the buyer got a good price, especially considering the 7500 mile frozen blue that sold for $88k in September. 8k miles is super low and BaT buyers seem to love low mileage. Melbourne is also a relatively rare color as is Mineral white.
