Bimmercode F85

Looking to code a few things into my car, but curious what others have done? What are your favorite things that you coded with bimmercode? Thanks!

Just bought Bimmercode and haven't touched a thing. Also interested to know what is possible and popular/favorite features.

I've only done some basic, from memory.
  • Disabled footwell and lower door LED, left top strip in the doors and dash.
  • Disabled all the stupid warning chimes.
  • Disabled the auto-stop-start.
  • Disabled the steering wheel moving in and out. So it is always in the position I set it and doesn't wear out the motor.
  • Adjusted the angle of the Side mirror Dip to be a little less, so that I can see more behind me whilst reversing.
  • Set so the windows can go up an down whilst opening doors
  • One touch for the trunk open close, no holding.

I did try to set the low fuel range warning a little lower, but that appears to break blind spot monitoring and still does not work.

the one that I'd recommend the most is lowering the speed at which the BSM light turns on, I set mine to 20km/h. I have dark tint and at night it really helps.

You can also activate your door handle guide lights when reverse is engaged. Cool feature imo!

Also, unfolds side mirrors at a specific speed threshold.

Just an FYI…their website lists supported coding options for the f15 & f85. You can go directly to the site and click on each heading and you’ll get a list of all the supported coding options for that particular module. So one can simply go through the list and jot down the things that interests them: https://www.bimmercode.app/cars/f15/

Can someone explain what and how video in motion is and how it works. I’ve activated mine but not found a use for it? Maybe because I have RSE? Anyone with RSE that has been able to code the rear screens to match id6 lite?

Put video files on a usb flash drive and plug it into the usb in the center console. Select usb on the media list and enjoy!

Also when coding I recommend doing a notes list like this in case something doesn't work and you need to restore a change.

Recommend coding off Amber side marker light. Details on how in the screen shot

VO coding the volume of the confirmation sound, that is played when locking/unlocking the car, to "VERY HIGH" gets a lot of heads to turn......and slightly annoying for my my neighbors every morning and evening....on purpose...

You can do it all… if you can’t find certain things on BimmerCode (or at least in English and listed in your options) you can go into the expert menu and look for it there.. so if you browse the forum and find something look like: coding the ventilated seats to not go from 3 to 2 after 15min you can code that in expert mode… good luck!
I’d also recommend coding the tailgate to soft close— that prevents it from slamming.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have the ambient lighting on only whilst the doors are open. As in the LED coloured ones.

Yes…that is an EXPERT MODE coding parameter. And I believe the coding parameters are different based on build date. The early model years 2014/15/16 have a different coding versus the 2017/18…so make sure you find the correct coding parameters.

The tailgate slam (recode) was one of the most satisfying changes.

EDIT: Here’s a link to a thread on BimFest that has the coding parameters for the 2014-2016 & the 2017-up tailgate “thunk” coding. Scroll down to the last post (#6) for the 2017-up coding parameters: https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/h...thunk.1403573/

Definitely looks a little more complicated on the newer models. I'll see if I can figure it out 🤨
