2020 x5m wheels on 2017 x5m help!

I have a set of used 2020 x5m wheels I think it's the 809m which comes with 21 front and rear 22. I want to put them on the x5m 17'. I was toll to used some spacer but not sure which one. I also think the bolt pattern is different. Have anyone done this or could give me a hand would be much appreciated thanks. I also haven't try to put them on yet I just got them today

Those wheels are different hub bores and those are 5X112 bolt pattern as I recall. F15/85 is 5x120

Yea I knew that but I'm trying to find a spacer adapter to run it but there so much. I don't know which one to go for.

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer here.. Given how much our X5 weigh and the amount of torque being applied to the wheels (big heavy wheels too), wheel adapters don't come across as being safe. You are better off getting them redrilled or just get new wheels altogether.

Agreed, this is why I didn't go with the newer wheels. They're pretty easy to get a set of and seem to be cheaper for some reason, but the change in bolt pattern is a killer.

You need to shop for or talk to vendors that sell spacers and give them your wheel's specs (old & new). As already mentioned, the F95 X5M has a different wheel bolt pattern (5x112) and a different hub size (I believe it is 66.6 mm).

The F15/F85 has a 5x120 wheel bolt pattern and a 74.1mm wheel hub.

If you want to mount F95 wheels on a F85...then you need to consider what the offset & width of the f95 wheels are vs the f85. If they are the same or similar...then you need a thin wheel adapter/spacer that won't change the wheel offset that much...but will fit the smaller center bore of the new wheels as well as mount onto the larger wheel hub of your f85...as well as take care of the different wheel bolt pattern.

Again, you need to know (as well as the person helping you) the wheel specs of each set (width/offset/hub size/wheel bolt pattern)...then select a wheel spacer/adapter that will accommodate and adjust for the differences.

Thanks, I'm currently talking to a shop called wheels adapter that make spacer. They could make the adapter. The least they can do is a 20mm adapter. I didn't tell them about the offset either but I did give them all the spec. 809m wheels are 31et front and 43et rear. The oem I have are 21' with et40 front and rear et38. Should I go with 20mm all around?

This is where wheel spacers get interesting. To determine the final offset when using a wheel spacer...you actually SUBTRACT the width of the spacer from the wheels original offset.

For example...if you mount a wheel that has a 40mm offset & 38mm offset...a 20mm spacer would make the final offsets 20mm & 18mm. This will also push the wheels out further toward the fender.

Will the above push your wheels too far out (past the fender)? That's one thing you'll need to be careful with (unless that's the look you're going for).

You can use the following site to play around with the wheel & tire specs of the sets of wheels you have and see if adding a 20mm wheel adapter (remember to subtract the width from the original wheel's offset) will stick out too far...or make it. Compare each wheel & tire set up for each axle between the original and the new wheel setup (along with using the wheel adapter calculation to get the final offset. www.willtheyfit.com

So I got some custom spacer/adapter and manage to install the 809m wheels. Basically you looking at a 20mm all around. Looks really good if you ask me would of prefer maybe a 15mm at front but still. Got a little video on Instagram if you want to see, same name on there.

Unfortunately I didn't take any. I took them off they have some curb rash that are getting fix. But the front stick out about half inch probably less. The rear just looks amazing though no complain there.

Finally got a chance to put them back on for the summer. Here a few pictures to finish the thread lol. These look really good on my f85m with the adapter. I'm actually selling these for the G series X5. It's too much work for me to put those wheels on lol.
