6WB Digital Cluster Upgrade

Out of curiosity.. Has anyone attempted or upgraded the instrument cluster found in the newer G and F series cars? Saw this on the F15/16 forum:

Thinking about it now especially when clusters on ebay are listing for $500-$600.

This has been discussed several times in the past but I have yet to see anyone do it.
Somewhere it was mentioned KOMBI speaks differently to M cars however this must not be true as I've seen an F80 M3 with 6WB

What is your question?

You can make it work, however there's no specific X5M graphic supported by BMW, so your speed, RPM etc. will not match. You can make it work with the regular X5 graphics.
