has anyone else had troubles using bimmercode after installing an aftermarket carplay unit?

i have one that attaches to the HU and now when i try to connect it goes to 12% and fails.

Just seeing if anyone else is having this issue

You'll have to update the firmware/MCU of the MMI. Downloads for pretty much every model can be found in this thread. Make sure you pick the right model because they're not interchangeable. If you don't know which one to download, I would email the manufacturer and ask.

There's also a setting in bimmercode to ignore the headunit, enable that.

I have had JoyeAuto for carplay/Android Auto for over 2.5 years and no problems as i do coding via bimmercode for my youtube channel. Infact i have done multiple HU coding as well.

Are you sure all the wires were plugged in ? and are you using Apple or Android device? is the dongle wifi or bluetooth? some of the older dongle are no longer supporting the Bimmercode app. check the developers' website.

No issues with any type of coding.

You will have issues updating firmware with ISTA-D, so it's best to put all back to stock if you're using it to update. Pretty annoying..

I have the 4x4 Android 10 unit.

This might sound like a ridiculous question, but if I were to enable this setting in Bimmercode, would I then be able to code within iDrive?

Context: I used a third party vendor to do the ID6 upgrade and code in full-screen Carplay. As a result, I can no longer access the iDrive options via Bimmercode.

This isn't that big of a deal, to be honest. More of an annoyance that I'd be interested in a workaround for.
