Does anyone else’s wife ask them why they bought an expensive car just to change it when modding our X5s? Lol. My wife has been easy going about it, but always has that comment about changing the looks of my car. She said if you didn’t like the look, why did you buy it? I tell her it’s a hobby and I like to customize more to my liking and she understands.
I just changed my Xline to an Msport and she saw it yesterday, agreed that it looked better with the paint matched exterior but still didn’t understand why I spend so much money modifying my car. She then proceeds to tell me that my freshly powder coated 469Ms in gloss black look plastic and fake. That kind of hurt a little bit LOL. I can’t wait to see her look and comment when my 22” Vossens show up here soon! I’m wondering if you all get the same feedback from your wife’s or if I should throw her to the wolves?! |

my wife has never really questioned it like that. she knows i've always been a car guy (modding) and it'll never stop. she fully supports my love for modding. i can't leave any of our cars alone. it's just impossible. i make sure her hooptie looks just as nice so she doesn't feel left out.
i just picked up our f15 and had parts arriving before the car itself even got here. haha

I’ve offered to get her wheels and tints done on her Porsche Macan, but she declined. I think maybe later she might agree too it, but for now she says she likes her car the way it is. |

my wife doesn’t get it, but then I try to explain it to her and she zones out and then stops caring LOL.
also, XLine to Msport conversion you say? where’d you source the parts?

Been with my wife 20 years, I've always had a modded vehicle. Now I have 5 that I'm slowly doing this with, 2 BMWs, 2 Fords(ish, one being a mercury) and an 89 Mercedes E260.
Things can't stay stock for long. The X5 other than being coded and black grills is stock so far and it's crushing my soul. |

I also try to keep my mods simple. Once I modify my car, if gives me a sense of attachment to it. My wife so far likes all my mods 😊 |
