I usually cut rectangular sheets of cardboard measuring 26” each side and tape the front and back of the wheel with cardboard (make sure the full face of the wheel is protected). Then I generously wrap the entire wheel+tire with stretch wrap and finally wrap another run of tape over it.
It’s a pain in the *$$ to do this, but it’s not that difficult to do it either. Goes much easier if you have a 2nd person to hold the wheel in place while wrapping. Takes about 15-30 mins per wheel. |

I recently used freightquote to ship some 612m. Price was much better vs trying to go directly to UPS or FedEx. Wheels were shipped on a pallet with foam insulation between the wheels for protection and strapped to the pallet.
