abs / brake light

Guys hoping someone has an idea of what is going on with my abs/ emergency brake because the shop I take it to has no idea. I’ve been getting the abs light/ chassi stabilization light on periodically for about a year. Every time I take it to the shop they say they reset it and everything looks good. They did change out the front abs sensors and it’s still happening. Any ideas. Would like to not pay another 1000 for them to “experiment”

I’d say get something like Foxwell NT530 from Bimmerworld. $160 shipped with BMW software pre-loaded. Should allow you to figure out what’s going on.

Without codes it will be hard to pin down. ABS wheels speed sensors are located front and rear. They are magnetic and I've seen them collect metal shaving with time that can cause the ABS to malfunction. You may only need to wipe/clean them or perhaps additional replacement. I'd only use a BMW part and skip the junk on this critical system component.

Have not pulled one from the X5, but should be easy to DIY. Usually one bolt hold them in place next to the inner wheel hub. Then follow the cable to a junction box near the wheel well where it can be unplugged.

The guys from the European shop I go to have pulled codes and said it’s the ABS but they cannot pinpoint the reason. They already replaced front sensors. They said maybe the module
