Post Power Steering & Dynamic Drive Fluid

This week I changed the last remaining fluid for my 50k service: the power steering and dynamic drive fluid.

There is no official service interval for this nor have I heard of anyone on this platform changing it but it was the "last fluid standing" so I had to do something about it!

I read and watched videos of others draining via disconnecting the hose from the cooler. Instead, I ended up using a fluid extractor to remove ~1L of fluid from the reservoir, refilled, drove a few hundred miles, and did it again. The fluid once black is now dark green.

I used two cans of Pentosin 1405116 CHF 11S Long-Life Synthetic Hydraulic Fluid.

I change the power steering fluid every two years. What do you mean by dynamic drive fluids, are you referring to the intercooler charge fluid? If that's it, I change it every 4 years along with the engine coolant.

The steering rack and front/rear torsion bars (dynamic drive) share the same pump and fluid reservoir.

What is your method to change this fluid? Curious.

You can use either a suction fluid extractor, or loosen the lines to the rack and dampers. I prefer to use the suction extractor, becuase loosening and tightening of lines will leak over time. When sucking out the fluid in the rack you do need to turn the wheel lock to lock to suck out as much fluid as possible. And I only use synthetic fluids .

Thanks for confirming! This was my method also.
