Sh!ts and giggles, was bored on the throne-->
Got a new caranddriver and they tested the new M3. 3600lbs curb weight, 414hp at 8300rpm and 295@3900rpm, 0-60=4.4 1/4 mile in 12.9 @111
So, what's a modded 135i gonna run? If it weighs less and has the same hp and more tq, I'm guessing (with good tires) low 4's and mid 12's at the strip?? Damn.....that's cool (friend of mine with a supra upon finding out about the 135i being a twin turbo inline six) Little Bimmer, FTW!!:thumbup:

I think traction is going to be a big problem on these cars. What do we get, 235's in the rear? It will be interesting to see what fits.
And we have the "LSD issue." M3s have the fancy launch control, to boot. I don't think it will be quite as quick as you suggest, although I do think a modded 135 could match the new M3 given traction, power, and a good nut behind the wheel. Regardless, dragstrip isn't going to be this thing's forte. |

Here, I hope this answeres your question: BMW 335i w/PROcede V2 (auto) 0~60 in: 4.3s The 135i is lighter, but probably won't have as much traction as the 335i. How those 2 aspects factor in, I'd say a modded 135i will be no slower than a moded 335i...! -Garrett |

Hmm...DSM9.....seems you tinkered in Eclipses and Talons for a while. My friend, the mod bug has already bitten. I'll probably have parts in the garage before I even get the car. That'd be fun. Take a new car with less than 1000 miles on it and start f**king with it already. lol (btw, hooray for me being single, no rings to give out!! :biggrin

Be happy to be a single. It was hard to persuade my girl friend, that i buy a 135i(big dispute). Everytime bad sentences like: "150hp are enough", "u can drive even 100 on normal streets", "save the money for an apartment",...
But if i dont get the car, this would be a big disaster for her and for all:biggrin: cause i will freak out then... |

Well Gldnrkt I have never actually tinkering with any car. I am now just starting to make some decent money that I will be able to afford something I really want. I certainly could have modded my 88 325 vert but it had to many miles on it. I could have started on my 98 civic but I really didn't think I was going to have the car all that long needless to say I was wrong. So I'm looking for the 135 to be my baby. I'm still debating wether or not to go put down a deposit right now. I still want to see this car in person before I really make a decision. I'm also so god damn psyched up about this car I don't want to wait forever for it. I honestly wish this car was out now. This way I could see it and the waiting list would not exist. If I do get on the waiting list I too will probably start looking at getting some parts. My old man owns a auto parts store so this only makes it worse not to add onto the car. |

+1 A Proceed V2 or V2.xx 135i will kill probably 90% of cars you will ecounter on the street.

Bah, why stop there!! New intercooler, downpipes, exhaust...call it a day. If you're nuts enough, why not run meth injection and race gas too!! See what she's really got under the bonnet! By the time most of us are ready to score a 135 we'll be on proceed v3 or v4, lol. Ahh, technology...I luvs it!

Most normally I would agree here. I like being a pioneer and adventurous but i don't think I could if I purchased a 135. I currently own a SRT-4 and I built it out so just thinking a tune and a single mod could increase horsepower like it has proven to makes me think of what else this little beast is hiding. |

bigger intercooler, exhaust dp, pnp head, turbos, and headers. intake, and cutstom tune on the procede v2. I'm gonna try and aim for 430whp. Well c tho, the pnp on the turbo should really help with boosting issues in the higher rpms.
and with 235F/265R tires, low 12 or even high 11s? : |

Roll the fenders, fat sticky tires, shave few hundred pounds, plenty of extra hp/tq, and ofcourse the driver mod:wink:! Should get us in that range. We will be taking lots of cars . Around a track it should be even more FUN!!!! |

This car can produce nearly 400hp with just a PROcede. Though, an aftermarket FMIC, DP's, CAI and exhaust will aid this. Fat tires is the only think stopping this sleeper. This car will have more power than it can put down. -Garrett |

...or possibly survive. Read the posts on the other forum about maximum input torque ratings for the manual and automatic transmissions these cars are factory equipped with. Then, discover that the transmission replacement cost is comparable to a nice used car.
Ouch. The engine can be modified to put out very high power, with outputs exceeding the drivetrain's capabilities. Sobering when parts costs are considered. |

Yeah, but 400hp/400ft-lb tq is not exceeding the engines or tranny's rating. If you plan on moding beyond this, then you will have to start to consider other options. |

Not doubting you, but how do we know this for sure?? Hell, I'll be happy if I hit 425bhp on this thing, that'll be PLENTY fast.
