How will you spec out your 1 Series?
With all the heated discussions going on about pricing, it occurred to me how many folks on here talk about "loading" their cars with every option they can find.
I guess I must be in the minority here, as all I'm interested in on my 135i is leather. How do the rest of you see your cars being equipted? |

I like mine nicely equipped.
Premium/Sport/Cold, navigation, comfort access, and HD radio. |

I like to be pretty spartan, probably just the metallic paint and possibly sunroof and/or upgraded sound system in a 135.
In Canada heated seats and block heater are standard while sunroofs are a $1500 option, so I'm kind of up in the air about that. As for leather, I really don't mind leatherette at all. For me the sport suspension and M-aero kit standard on the 135 are probably as big a factor as the engine for me in getting the 135 over the 128. |

Same as I did with my 2001 VW Golf. I wanted a 1.8T and they actually made it in the Golf (4 door) for one year!! I ordered it no option, no sunroof, nothing. I wanted the car for the engine!!
I'll probably do the same thing here. Seems the 135 comes pretty well equippted already, all I want is leather seating. (Black car-black leather or white car-red leather.) That's it. I don't care about Navigation, i don't care about idrive, I don't care about much else. Give me a tossable chassis with a kickass engine and a tranny that I can shift on my own (i.e. no auto-slushbox for me) and I'll be a happy boy.

Depends upon what the options include. Having the 135i standard with most of the performance stuff really comes in handy.

gebent, you might not be in the minority... Philosophically, I want a spartan 135i; ideal would be 6 spd, cloth interior, no gadgets. If Bluetooth works correctly with my Blackberry, I'd consider that, but not if I have to get navigation and have that silly sharkfin on top of the car. In that case, I'd get a decent aftermarket navigation system with Bluetooth, or just a bluetooth handsfree speaker. Problem is, I've never had any success with Bluetooth components. Audio quality always sucks. Maybe I'd spring for a premium stereo if BMW has finally figured out how to make a stereo sound decent... |

128i, 'ette, 6 spd, the 5 spokes(17"...the nice ones that are on the uk config; 1 of 2 choices that don't add any $$), heated seated, metallic blue, tint/privacy glass(whichever), and 3m it...I plan to keep this car for while.
Oh, can't forget the snow tires for next winter. |

I like the pioneer z1 navigation, 30GB HDD and bluetooth. But how would u fit that into the 1er's dash? Depends if the car comes with the sports package. From the euro brochures it seems that the 135i only comes with the M sport aero package and that the actual sports package (six pis. brakes, stiffer suspension etc. ) is not included. In the case if the sport package is included, i'd probably add on prem and navi. if it's not included, i'm just gonna add the sport package and be done with it. ... well that is untill i take delievery of the car. That's when the real options begin.

A/W Black interior 135i as cheep as it comes. With the money I save on options I'm going to get some cloth recaros, LSD, Bilstein PSS9 and a PROcede. I know all that stuff is more than I'll save but it will put a good dent in it.

Mine will be a 135 with a 6 speed manual transmission; Originally, I was going to get the blue 135. but now all these red 135's and alpine white with red interiors are making me think otherwise...
also getting that nifty ipod kit.. that's pretty much it in my book, I dont know if i'll get navigation. |
