Hi All,
My order just went to Awaiting Carrier Assignment Stage today(01/15/2024). Does anyone have any idea on how long will it take to reach at my dealership (Chicago)?
Anyone here who placed an order for 24X1, what were the timelines for you?

You can probably expect 2 and 1/2 to 3 months depending on how long it sits of the European and USA port That's.

Timeline:
10/11: Order received
10/11: Production scheduled
10/16: Production begins
10/30: Exterior assembly begins
10/31: Paint booth
11/02: Entering assembly line
11/02: Assembly in progress
11/02: Quality check
11/03: Final assembly
11/03: Ready for transport
11/03: Awaiting carrier assignment
11/03: Dispatched from factory
11/06: At the port (Zeebrugge)
12/04: In Transit (departed Zeebrugge December 1st on Apollon Highway).
12/20: Switched to "At Port" (vessel arrived Brunswick night of 12/19)
12/29: In Transit to Dealership

my data is from back in March.

My BMW CA gave me the ship name 4 days after the status changed to "Waiting for carrier assignment"

1 day later, the status changed to "at port"

11 days later, the status changed to "in transit" (according to Fleetmon, the ship sailed from port of Bremerhaven, the previous day)

1 day later, ship stopped in Zeebrugge, Belgium

3 days later, ship stopped in Southampton, England.

13 days later, ship arrived at port of Baltimore

4 days later, ship arrived at port of Brunswick, Georgia

5 days later, my X1 arrived at the dealership

Our X1 went to ACA status Sept 14 and arrived at the dealership Nov 27. We had a 2 week hold in Baltimore due to trim piece shortages, but no other abnormal delays.

I’m also at a similar stage to you (“At the port”), with delivery to the East Coast (NY). From what I’ve seen, once your vehicle is “In transit” and on a ship to USA, it should get to the dealer in about 4 weeks or less.

At least for NY, the journey by ship takes 12-17 days, plus another week to get through VPC and onto the dealer. Not sure what port is used for Chicago.

The biggest variable is when “At the port” and waiting to be assigned to a ship, as I’ve seen that take anywhere from 1-4+ weeks.

My 2024 x1 took 8 weeks to arrive at dealership after it went into production queue. Actually only was in “assembly line” (being made) for 3-4 days. The rest of the time it waited to move to next stage(s). Figure it taking about 3 weeks on the carrier to USA east coast. It waited at Germany port about the same amount of time. Hope this helps.

True, mine went from Bremerhaven Germany Port to Southampton UK & then into Halifax Canada before the carrier made its way to Bayonne, NJ/NY Port. Took 3 weeks on the water.

Note: If Your tracking progress on BMW app don’t be surprised when, after making it to you home port, the app reverts back a step or 2 to “at port” in Germany when it’s truly being transferred to the dealership. The genius team told me the glitch was a problem with the app.

My X1 has been on “waiting carrier assignment” for 3 days. I ordered mine in mid December.

Maybe they only have ships 1-2 times a month heading to the US. 🤞 the cars get here soon.

Mine was at the Germany port 3 weeks before being assigned to carrier. Once on Carr out took another 3 weeks to make it to the east coast in US.
