Hankook Ventus RS2's
I was recomended these by a good friend. Having very little knowledge about tires and soon to be owning a very powerful car tire knowledge is important. My friend said he prefers these to PS2s because of their superior wet grip as he uses them on his DD. He did say the PS2s had slight bit better dry grip but wore much quicker and are $$$.
What I am looking for is just some additional feedback and/or any sort of review on the tire. |

I've got RS2's on the Miata - for as cheap as they are they're very good. They take a good set when cornering - they are consistent, and they seem to be wearing OK. They do not have the intimate 'feel' that the Michelin Pilots do though. Would I get them again? Probably not - I'd go back to Michelins, but at a much higher price point.

We are talking about the z212 with 140 tread rating correct? I have been running these during the summer on my mazda6. The grip is incredible in the dry. If you can make them squeal you are probably on the edge of death. Usually the driver will chicken-out before you run out of grip.
The only drawback I can think would be noise level if you are coming from a touring tire. If you like grip and don't mind higher higher noise and shorter tread life this is for you. At the price point they really have no rival for ultimate dry grip.

I use them
I have used both the Z212's and Falken Azeni RT-615 as daily driver and track tires on my Miata. Both tires offer great grip, although the Falkens have better initial turn in.
We are using Falken FK-452s on our E39 M5. Grip isn't as high as the 615s or the Z212's, but it is a better choice for wet weather driving. Since we knew we'd only be getting 15K out of a set of rear tires on the M5, we figured cheaper tires might be the way to go. On my WRX I went from the Bridgestone S02's to the Azenis as summer tires, and was overall happier with the wear of the Falkens, and the level of grip as the tire aged. In short, do not be afraid of some of the less expensive options. If you aren't happy, they are some of the easiest components on the car to change (just go do some doughnuts to speed the process along if needed). -Bionic |

I have run PS2, Z212 and the Bridgestone RE-01 on the autox courses. The RE-01 are the best of the three and the price is mid-way between the PS2 and Z212.
