RFT switch?
I have a few concerns about the run flats. I have read lots of complaints on the old Bridgestone tires on different forums.
For anybody that has them still on their 1, how do you like them? Are they noisy? Does the car sound like it bottoms out on little road imperfecting (rough ride)? How is the wear on them? How about on shitty roads? Now for those who made the switch already. What tires did you switch it to? I suppose the ride is quiter and less rough but how about the handling since the suspensions are designed for RFTs. Can you tune the suspension for better non-rft handeling? Does the tire switch void any of the manufacturers warrenty? Any help or comments would be helpfull. I'm a little apprehensive about the run craps! This my first BMW and wan't the best experience possible. Thanks |

The current version of the Bridgestone RFT on the 135i is far superior to early (4-5 years ago) runflats. They are quiet, generate pretty darn good grip, and the ride is not great but OK. When my original RFTs wear out i will still switch to a non-RFT due to lower cost and the ability to select a specific level of performance, in my case an extreme performance street tire for summer/auto-x use.

Excuse me if this has been asked before, but can you put non-RFT on the OE rims?:iono:
And will the tyre pressure monitoring system still work if one had to change the rims?

yes you can keep the TPMS system with new rims. many rims are setup to accept it. If not read the sticky at the top of the wheel thread on a way to put the TPMS in the trunk
