are these powder coated?

Do you guys think the tii performance wheels were powder coated to a gun-metal finish?

I really don't know much about wheels and I know less about powder coating but I'm trying to figure out why the tii wheels look so much darker. surely it isn't just lighting is it?
:iono:

EDIT: second picture down is the bmw performance wheel ... first and third are the tii wheels.

I don't know if they're powdercoated or not, but the wheels on the tii are definitely darker than the standard BMW performance wheels. I'm not really fond of the standard silver.

^^ I wish I could get the 135 wheels on my 128 They look great powdercoated too.
You should be able to buy a slightly used set from a fellow 1Addict. Watch the For Sale forum, I recall one set for sale already.

Your rims looks really nice! I am def going to get my rims powder coated when I get the vehicle. I am thinking Black rims with the AW. BTW, are you using the RFT?

This picture better represents the true color (gunmetal) of the BMW Performance Wheels. The Tii are likely powdercoated rear Performance Wheels and are dark grey or slate colored.

ah you must be the gentleman that I swiped the 2nd picture from.

thanks for your opinion on this. i assume you say the tii wheels are likely "rear Performance Wheels" because the tii has larger size tires up front?

i like them on your car ... but on the tii it has a certain factor that i'd like to recreate. :drinking:

Yes, and thanks for the compliment... I prefer the Tii wheels as well and given the choice I would have leaned to them.

I'm still not seeing a color difference?:iono:

To me, you are looking at the same rim in dramtically different lighting conditions (indoor vs. dusk vs. bright sunny day). Is there any verification that the Tii rims are indeed gunmetal or is it just speculation?

The "tii" wheels are not powder coated. It's just at an alternative angle with different lighting.
