in a 135!!!!???

HOW!

I can barely get mid 18's when I baby it, gentle starts, low revs, short shifting, etc. Haven't really done enough highway to say besides on the autobahn where I was going a lot faster than what would be considered good gas mileage driving.

Well, my 'city' driving is really 'town' driving. I only have about a mile to work and there is really only slowing down at the base gate and maybe one stop light. That is the 'best' as well, usually it is around 19 ish.

Also an auto trans.

27.3 Highway, steady speed, one complete tank. Town is hard to get accurately, no mix at all on the interstate, probably 18 to 20.

My mileage

I've got about 2k miles.
Ok, on highway trips averaging 75 miles to 200 miles including
getting to/fro highways I average 27 mpg. That's shifting at 1500 rpm but includes high rev shifts 2-4 x per trip to deal with anybody messing with me! If I'm going up a big hill I do switch AC off.
I do shut car off if at standstill for a light that just turned red.
Weekend no holes barred driving drops to 22 mpg.
What I haven't tried yet is taking advantage of torque and getting up to speed asap then upshifting to low rpm range. Meaning if
if pussy foot getting up to speed at 1500 rpm it's taking longer to get up to speed so why not have more fun and get to crusing speed faster.....suck gas faster but less time would be a wash?
There's so much torque in any gear I routinely 'skip' gears, e.g. 2nd to 5th, 3rd to 6th...

22.6 cumulative since new, if I understand the readout correctly. About 10% highway driving mostly the NJ Turnpike.

About 18.5 in the city and 27 on the highway. I find that brand of gas plays a huge role in this as well. I used to fill up at 7/11 but started noticing that my mpg was only like 17 in the city. That didn't smell right to me.. So started driving a couple miles out of my way to get Shell gas. And now same driving habits in the city are getting me 19.2mpg. I believe Ethanol is playing a role in lower mpg as well. I recommend Shell though. My car runs much smoother at idle as well. The 711 gas used to give me a rough idle.

I haven't been monitoring it all too closely as I just finished the break-in period, though I will say it is getting progressively better. Eace fill up seems to be 10 or more miles on the trip than the previous.

I have yet to drive mine for any considerable distance since redelivery, but on ED over 1499 miles, with at least 600-700 being on the Autobahn at 130 and the rest mixed, I averaged 23. Just be aware that the car doesn't even get 10 mpg at 130.

So you're saying it gets less than 10 mpg at 130 mph? Just need this cleared up, thanks!

That is correct. I think it gets about 8-9 at that speed, when you throw in an occasional deceleration to account for corners or traffic and accelerating back up to speed. I think that if you could maintain a steady 130 you might see 11 or 12.

I'll keep that in mind. That information is especially valuable to me during California commute traffic.

No wonder I've been averaging only 8-9. Now, with your help, I'll get 11 or 12.
