JuiceBox Stage 3 - OFFICIAL RELEASE
http://www.rixeffects.com/store/bms
Its here. Its still considered "beta maps" , If any changes or updates are made prior to full production release those purchasing the beta release will receive them free of charge. Most likely if all goes well in a few weeks we will just drop the beta from the name. Units start shipping on 8/21 .. quantities are limited, especially on PNP units. Backorders will for sure happen. See the product pages for more details. __________________________________________________ ______________ Ready to take your BMW twin turbo to the next level? How does an additional 80hp and 80tq to the wheels on an otherwise stock car sound? Stage 3 improvements include crank position for full 4D engine mapping, air intake temperature for on the fly thermal loading adjustments, direct solenoid control for precise spike free boost control, throttle input for factory like drivability, and fuel pressure control for diagnostic invisibility. Because the JB3 was designed from the ground up specifically for the N54 platform, we were able to optimize the unit for reliability and ease of install. The JB3 does not require complicated external power or ground taps which can leave tell tale signs of modification or trigger detection codes. And the JB3 box and harness are designed to fit discretely in the ECU compartment with no visible signs of modification. We've also made installation a snap! JB3 is offered with two wiring harnesses. Plug and play (PNP), and professional (pin-out). The PNP includes color matched subconnectors and does not require counting/extracting ECU pins. Installation takes only 15-20 minutes. The pin-out (suggested for experienced enthusiasts only) uses OEM BMW pins in similar manner to JB1 and JB2, and has an install time of 30-45 minutes. Neither version requires the solenoid bypass or any vacuum line changes making removal a snap! The JB3 holds up to 4 maps, allowing users to switch tunes on the fly using one of the optional map switches. The unit is fully programmable using a small memory chip allowing you to add new maps and updates down the road as we release them. Each unit is shipped with the following maps: High Boost Map (default map): With boost pressures of 13-15psi and the buttery smooth operation of an unmodified car, this map is suggested for the majority of Stage 3 users. Stock cars can expect gains of up to 80 wheel horsepower and 80 wheel torque, while cars with additional modifications and ideal weather conditions can expect huge gains of up to 120 wheel horsepower and 120 wheel torque. All this on pump gas, with the reliability you've come to expect from BMS. The high boost map is configured to automatically compensate for upgrades to the intercooler, exhaust, intake, and octane, giving you the peace of mind that you're safely extracting as much horsepower as you can for your given conditions. Low Boost Map (unlock with map switch): Similar to the high boost map, only peak boost is set to level off at 12-13psi. Intended for those wanting the additional drivability and diagnostic invisibility features of the JB3 with Stage 2 (JB2H) like peak performance. Also suggested for extreme altitudes or foreign countries where fuel quality is questionable. Valet map (unlock with map switch): Reverts to the factory tune for stock performance. Additional maps are under development, including a "lean cruise" map intended to maximize fuel economy, a "high altitude" map for those cars normally operating at 4000' and higher, and a "race map" for those wanting to push power to the limit. Once available these additional maps can be purchased from BMS for a small fee and will be mailed on an update chip. *** NOTE TO THOSE WITH MARCH 2008 OR LATER BUILD DATES OR ECU UPDATES *** Starting in March, 2008, BMW introduced new ECU software designed to detect piggyback tuners and limit their torque output. BMS has studied these updates and has developed JB3 maps that do not trigger this detection. If you have a March, 2008 or later build date (check door jamb), or if your ECU software has been updated since March, 2008 (check dealer paperwork, or call your dealer), or if you think you may have the new ECU software or are unsure, it is imperative you select the 29.2/V81 option when ordering the JB3. Failure to pay attention to this detail may result in detection codes. Horsepower gains are similar but torque has been reduced 5-10#/ft. In addition air/fuel ratios and other tuning parameters have been changed to preserve diagnostic invisibility. *** UPGRADE DETAILS *** Customers who purchased a JB1/JB2 directly from Burger Motorsports or RiXeffects qualify for an upgrade credit. To take advantage of this program purchase the JB3 and after the swap ship your JB1/JB2 back with a copy of your paypal or credit card receipt, and BMS will issue a refund to your paypal account or credit card for the purchase price of your JB1/JB2. This policy applies to original purchasers only and BMS has the final say in whether or not an upgrade refund will be issued. Tuners sent in that do not qualify for upgrade (e.g. no record of JB3 customer purchasing JB1/JB2 from BMS) will become the property of BMS with no refund issued. Only receipts from Burger Motorsports and RiXeffects will be accepted. Sorry, we can not give credit for H, Solenoid Kit, R, or X upgrades. |

map switch info... posting now.
From BMS: Hey guys, I've had a lot of questions on the JB3 map switch so I wanted to post up some additional information and photos. Each JB3 is shipping with 3 maps. Our high boost map, a low boost map, and a valet (stock) map. We will be offering additional maps down the road as well. We've designed the map switch system to be expandable, meaning we plan to offer a variety of map switches down the road. We have plans for a wireless switch, a switch with 4 positions to mate to a race map we are working on, etc. As it stands right now we only have one switch ready to go, a basic on-off-on wired switch that can be mounted in the engine bay or run in to the glove box. I suspect 98% of you will leave it in the engine bay as shown. This switch will need to be purchased if you want to run the low boost or valet map, otherwise the JB3 defaults to the high boost map with no switch. We will be adding it to the website shortly (waiting for the switches to arrive first), and will offer free shipping on it since it wasn't there in time for the JB3 orders. Price will be $22 for the 12" wire version. $30 for the same switch with longer wire to run inside the cabin. Please forgive my very very dirty engine bay. As you can see the cowl is off but the switch is accessible from that location with the cowl and covers installed. |

Hey Rick, I'm loving my JB1 I ordered from you. What is the process of upgrading to JB3? Do I send first then buy the jb3 at the subtracted price or is that I buy first, then send in my jb1 and get refunded? Thanks again.
