replace lowbeam halogen bulb
just trying to replace the lowbeam halogen bulbs, does anyone know how to actually take out the bulb? the manual just says "remove bulb and replace", after you take pull the clip holding the bulb down, do you twist or simply pull the bulb out? or is there a button to release?

128i low beam use H7 bulbs
my 323i use H7 for both low and high beams there is a clip holder which you need to flip up, the bulb will be released then simply pull it out gently. will try to take a picture for you later. |

It's like a 2 prong clip, you need to go the bottom of the clip and you can push each side down and to the outside of their respective positions independently of each other. Once both sides are unclipped, flip the wire clip upwards as it is hinged up top. Be careful not to touch bulb with fingers as the oild creates hot spots and the bulb will fail prematurely.

Sorry to revive an old dead thread but does anyone have pics of this process? The instructions don't seem complicated, but there is NO room to navigate, especially on the driver's side, I'm worried about sticking my hand in and grabbing the wrong thing.
Not only that, but there are wires leading to the light. Are they connected to the bulb in any way, or should I avoid those altogether? Pics would be GREATLY appreciated! |

Tried doing it myself, but had troubles from the Clip-from-hell as some people call it, that hold s the bulb in place. Was a mission to get it off, and i couldn't get the bulb to sit right once installed..
Must remind you guys again: DO NOT TOUCH THE BULBS WITH BARE HANDS Creates hot spots, as TT1351 said, and WILL fail. Took it to BMW in the end who did it for me in 5 mins |
