Group Interest for Intake
Are the 128ers interested in the BMW Performance Intake? I drove one the other day, and it does give it more kick, definitely a better sound. Throttle response is better, but to each his own! If anyone is interested, please let me know so that I can create a group buy for the 128ers! We're missing out on the 128 love!

I would definetly be interested in a intake if it does not avoid my warranty and its a good price.

Will these characteristics you mentioned be felt in everyday driving (i.e. freeway passing, off-the-line and lower end response? Or, did you have to really wind up the car to notice anything? I'm just trying to gauge if there are useable benefits for daily driving. Of course I'll throw in the fun factor on occasion. Thanks!

Would you expect an improvement of fuel economy...
... with the Performance Intake in a 128i, assuming it did not lead to more aggressive driving behavior (maybe an unlikely assumption!)??? If so, how much of an improvement?

Hey guys, it was a customer's car from out of town. Wish I had my camera with me at the time. The intake is posted on our website, I can do a tad better with a group buy purchase, but I'd need at least 5 people signed up

For a good price I'll take the plunge and count me in. The fact it's warranteed if installed by a BMW dealership is appealing.

^^^Sorry, I didn't make myself too clear. You're right, the intake itself is covered under BMW warranty no matter who installs it.
What I was trying to say is that if the intake is installed by a BMW service center and then causes a problem somewhere in the engine later on, the cost to fix the engine problem is covered under warranty. However, if the intake is not installed by a BMW service center the cost to fix an engine problem that's caused by the intake will not be covered by warranty. Only the intake itself will have warranty coverage. That's why I find the BMW intake to be appealing even though it's pricey. I'll have full warranty coverage since I plan to have a BMW service center install it.

I can do the intake for $741.00 + shipping, OR $790.40 shipped inside the US. That's only if I have 5, anything else is $790.40 + shipping

C'mon gang! The price appears to be fair (could go up later) considering it looks to be a well designed quality carbon fiber piece; and we all know carbon fiber products have high asking prices - just look at the CF interior trim kit or rear spoiler that's so popular.
Give some love to the front-end (our velvet 6) where the driving experience all begins! You'll get the looks + performance enhancements Dan described + BMW warranty!! Maybe the Moderators might consider moving this thread over to Commercial Sales for more visibility? Thanks.

Is there anything different about this intake versus the factory original, other than that it's made of carbon fiber? That is, is there a different filter inside or something? Is it larger?

This video taken from a member on E90post.com displays the BMW Performance Intake and Exhaust. It is the same motor, so it will be the same sound.
