Oil Temp
What's the normal oil temp for a 135i? I picked my car up and driving in winter condition under 3k rpm.. I can still hit 120 degrees celsius, is this normal?

According to my converter, that is 248 degrees F. Very normal--that is right in the middle of the updated instrumentation panel (for us in the States anyway).
On a side note, since I have gotten my JB3, I haven't been higher than about 235. Interesting to say the least.

Oil Thermostat?
I haven't had a chance to look under the car yet, but since the weather has turned cold it seems to take a VERY long time for the oil temp to start to move up. Is it possible that they did not put in a thermostat to the oil cooler? That seems very strange to me. I'm an old Porsche 911 guy and that seems so basic to engine temp management.

mine is 235F or so, but you should know that the 335i with N54 engines originally didn't have 250 in the center, they changed it because people were concerned. i guess changing the center tick helped because the issue kinda just went away.

Actually, I find my oil gets up to a higher temp when I am in stop and go traffic than when I am driving WOT. |

Interesting. I have driven the dog-piss out of mine, and nothing over 240, even in the summer when it was much much hotter. Oh well, as long as the engine is happy, I am happy.

yes we have that stock...lol thats why as soon as you start driving past 30mph you will notice the temps dropping..adding a bigger FMIC wont help you in the bumper to bumper traffic...

Sounds normal to me. I have an e30 M3 with an oil cooler and oil temp gauge. (most bmws don't have oil temp gauges). In the e30 as well as the 135, it is not uncommon to take over 15 to 20 min of driving to even see warmth register on the gauge.
