Reprise of Hooliganism
Some of you may remember this thread from a year ago:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209393 It came back to me after taking a test drive this evening following installation of my JB3. This car just encourages bad behavior, and I've only tried map 3 so far! I'm sure it will only get worse after my suspension arrives. |

I'm pretty sure that I'm on Map 4, (I counted carefully, lol) but I still feel power doesn't REALLY kick in till 3100rpm. Do you feel the same way on Map 4? Maybe I just don't know how to count to 4.... damn it, I should've paid more attention in kindergarten math class..

Too early to tell on mine. Not fully adapted yet.
I did think in "normal" driving it felt more responsive and willing to rev at lower RPMs. Made it easier to drive smoothly when just puttering around. |

Wow... you did some good searching. I remember it well... I had quite a few posts in that thread! Yeah... the 135i is definitely a seductive car that provokes mischief in its driver. But, frankly, it's exactly the kind of car I love. Sorry to learn that amsfoto got a speeding ticket right after installing his new BMS JB3. I have thought about getting the JB3, but in spite of BMS claims that it won't be detected, I still wonder if the ECU will possibly detect it and void the warranty, as it only takes one detection to raise the red flag. BTW, BMW announced that it will possibly offer its own ECU and performance kit upgrade later in the year. But, it will only provide about 20 more HP... so the JB3 is still way out in front... if it can't be detected. Anyway, thanks for the blast from the past! And good luck with the new suspension... keep us posted on that. The 135i still remains one of my all time favorite cars I've ever owned, regardless of price... and I've owned some other hooligans over the years, including numerous Porsche, Lotus and Ferrari vehicles. There's just something special about the 1er. TM

I am a lttle bit concerned about detection, but finally decided it was worth the risk. I'll probably pick up a BT setup to be safe (Group Buy anyone?).

HAHA wow that is really amazing, definitely be careful as you start changing the map settings. The torque is just killer.
