My DIY custom roundel
I decided to try my hand at creating a custom roundel for the Z4. I've never been a fan of having brand names/symbols plastered on everything, and thought this would be a good chance to make my car a little more individual.
Here is my first prototype, I'm very happy with the outcome. I have to clearcoat the entire thing yet but I consider it a success. I will be making a set of 3 82mm roundels for my car, haven't decided if I want to use the design in my prototype or not. If anyone has a high definition photo or clear scan of the Rapp Motors emblem/logo I would love to make the roundels out of that. I plan on posting up a detailed DIY in the next couple of weeks, I just wanted to iron out all the details before I started writing it. It's relatively cheap to do, but it does require a little bit of elbow grease and DIY spirit. Let me know if you have any suggestions on a logo/emblem I should look at or if you can see any ways to improve/change the way it came out. Thanks. |
