Guys NOW SERIOUSLY !!! Power exhaust system group buy or we'll never see it !
We made deep search of market and supply for power exhaust that will really boost our otherwise very fine N52 engines.
Nothing really good yet appeared for 125i/128i neither in US nor in Europe, except nice looking cosmetic silencers and other BS. N52 has great potential for reaching healthy 260-280 HP (depending on ECU tuning) at reasonable costs, without turbos and superchargers + further 15-30HP on intake-decat-straight pipe exhaust optimization. For reference: German and our domestic chip tuners easily brings ECU to yield 265-272HP +20% torque increase from engine (in Germany it cost ~2000-2400 $, here is much less, around 1200 $). It is no brainer for good cracker. Integral solution with optimized air intake + catless downpipes-straightpipe-silencer is necessary to wind up engine's full potential after (or without) ECU chip optimization is done. RissRacing has completed R&D for that now, but due to complete lack of interest (other than verbal of course) they can't order production of parts (or they will be stupid expensive). RissRacing could make such system comfortably priced (look at 135i) for group buy and know is moment of truth. Either we do it or stop asking questions on forums about N52 power increase Sign in for above in case of serious interest now |

Just to be clear.
I have no affiliation with RR and group buy is only way to make this thing happen at reasonable costs. Potential buyers from Europe and overseas are welcome. |

i've already got the bmw perf. exhaust but was eagerly awaiting an intake from them which they said was in the development but have heard nothing. Would also want a decent tune. As for the group buy im out on this one but if there is one on their intake I will def. be in.

125i and 130i and Euro X3 share 100% equal engine with only different ECU algorithm 128i might have (this is my guess) different intake manifold in the past (I don't know until when), but supposedly later is same as 125i/130i (again, pls. verify for yourself). X3 makes 272 HP stock. 325i was re-tuned here (after ECU algorithmn cracked) to 272HP initially and to full 280 HP later. Same I expect for my 125i. Guys do it here and in Germany, so no questions. At your place, I don't know, but you can send your ECU to Germany and they will do it for you (it has sense when you get confirmation that your engine's manifold is same like Euro 125i). In Germany is costlier, but they do software tune deeper and without dealers being able to 'see it'. Cracker's here did good job for tuning itself, but couldn't overcome system change identification, so if I go to dealer I just re-set to OEM SW data. 1800 Eur (minus VAT) is IMO best spent money on tuning N52 up to 270-280HP. Next step would be intake/downpipe we hope to get from RR. Together it would make car rocket fast, breathing much better and important much stronger on higher revs. |

I would love to get the ecu tune but 1800 euros which is 3200 AUD is quite expensive for me and thats excluding shipping and insurance to send it to germany.

It's pretty hard for me to believe that you guys are going to see any significant power gains from an exhaust system. The factory exhaust just isn't that restrictive to begin with.
You might see some gains from a header, but I'd be willing to bet that even after that the stock exhaust is adequate. |

ECU is what we need! I also firmly believe there is little or nothing to be gained by changes to the exhaust. If any horsepower is to be gained by an exhaust change, it would best be done in conjunction with ECU and intake upgrade. If you want a bit more of that sexy I6 sound, then sure - I'm considering the Meisterschaft or BMWP axle-back myself. But horsepower and torque? Nahh, ain't gonna come from exhaust changes. Until someone here in the USA offers up something solid in terms of ECU upgrade, we're stuck where we are. This sucks - having specific output that's no better than a Honda Accord or Nissan Altima. C'mon BMW, my car should have been 270 HP from the factory!!
