You are looking at a device that you plug in to the seat belt receptacle to fool the car into thinking you have the seat belt connected. It is meant for people who use racing harnesses.

So you don't lose it down the side of the seat I guess.

Or if you put your bag or briefcase on your passenger seat and the gong keeps going off, driving you crazy

Good idea, but I just run the belt behind my seat and plug them in, when using harnesses.

I used to do the same when I had my civic. After a while, the seatbelt lost tension when it was retracting itself. I probrably won't do that on the BMW. Hopefully the 1er has more robust seatbelts?

Nice. I had planned to go by a Pull-A-Part and if that didn't work, the dealer. This is easier!

me like. It works perfectly for stopping the gong from going off when I put something heavy (or what BMW thinks is heavy) on the passenger seat.

I love mine and I'm getting another one. It's really well made and the powder coat really holds up the constant inserting and removing.
