DCT -- Strange "Growling" after RE UDP Install?

I had the Rogue Engineering UDP's installed the other week. I am getting a "growling" noise at lower rpms, at times.

The growl sounds like a pump growl to me. I am sure many of you know what a pump that is low on fluid sounds like...that is basically the noise I am getting. All the fluids that I can check are ok. I am wondering if it may be the DCT pump? That worries me a bit.

Anybody else with DCT experience any change in engine sound after UDP install?

TIA

No change here after my Rogue pulley install, but I have noticed that my engine is making a little noise at idle. Almost sounds like main bearing knock, but it doesn't increase with rpm's .

I heard from Ben at Rogue and he said they have done many DCT UDP pully installs without issues. He stated that being as I have one of the first DCT's, it could be a bit "different" than the newer ones.

the sound does eminate from the tranny area.....at least as far as I can tell. Maybe the DCT pump on my tranny is different than the newer ones...hmmm. I don't hear it all the time, but it can do it when hot or cold. I am stumped. I like the extra response i got from the pullies, but I don't want to damage the tranny either.

i will sit tight for a while as I dont drive the car a lot. Hopefully somebdy else might chime in with some insight.

Nah, I doubt that yours is any different. As long as you have Rogue's latest 2 pulley set-up it should sound the same as every other DCT. I took my car by the dealership today, and the service manager listened to it briefly. He said that it sounded like a normal noisy-ass "M" engine to him. His advise was, "Beat the hell out of it, and if it breaks we'll fix it." I'm not buying that .

LOL.

There is definately a sound there that was not there previous to the install. It comes and goes. Sometimes it is "normal", sometimes I hear the growl.

I aint trippin'! lol. I am going to take it back to the install shop and have him look it over for me...just in case something is amiss.
