I used the roof cover on my 2005 Z4 from roadster solutions. I sold it with the car. I ordered a new one for my 2009 Z4. I used it during my ED. I really like how it protects the doors from dings. I think they are coming out with covers that fit the new Z4 also.

Quick question since I'm interested in purchasing one: do I have to worry about damaging the antenna using it or when the cover is on? It doesn't look like there's a spot for it in the pictures I've seen (for the official BMW cover), and it doesn't seem like the antenna comes off easily.
I tried asking the dealership about this but didn't get any answers regarding the antenna. |

I find regular use of a car cover does more damage than not using one. If there is any dirt/loose dust/sand on the paint it will scratch it, especially if you use it outside and the wind blows all day. Very evident on a black car. They are also a hassle to put on and take off.

Covercraft covers come with the hardware, so you can cut a small hole in the cover where the antenna is and then snap on a plastic O ring in place. Then you just slip the cover over the antenna.

Thanks for the information everybody, I'll have to see about that one from Covercraft (which sounds like the easiest route) and possibly how to unscrew that antenna if I go with the official cover. I tried unscrewing the antenna one day but that thing wouldn't budge, so I must be doing something wrong...
I'm just looking for a good cover to use mainly during the wintertime for when it snow's and when I travel. |

I agreed that car cover cause more minor scratches esp in dark coloured cars so I only used them when I go for travelling and leaving the car for more than 3 days. If not, I will not bother.
