Getting car Dyno'd this week----any pointers?

Getting it done on a dyno dynamics dyno...

I read I should:

1. Keep Hood closed
2. Make sure correction factor stays constant
3. Anything else...please mention it here

my car is dct....i read I should use 3rd gear.....but should i use that maually or let the car shift on its own....btw why cant i use 4th gear again?

thanks

I've never heard before that you should keep your hood closed.

Most don't close the hood. The only shop I know that does is RPi

Saw some Fabspeed dyno videos on youtube, one of the cars happened to be a DCT and I think they dyno it in 4th.

Don't know about DCT but for 6MT 4th gear is the one to use

5th gear is 1:1 ratio but it's not safe to get the wheels spinning that fast on the dyno

1:1 ratio for DCT is actually 7th but like Fstop7 said you probably don't want to spin the wheels that fast on a dyno. I did 2 runs in 5th and one in 4th. Either one would have been fine. I left the DCT in S5 when I dyno'd just to make sure the trans didn't try to shift itself.

A Dynapack operates on the same exact principle as a motor dyno, hence the greatest ME also produces the best results. But other dyno's don't operate this way and therefore using the gear with the greatest ME doesn't guarantee the best results.

I realize your saying to use 3rd gear but correct me if im wrong, ur also saying 3rd gear doesnt produce the best results on dyno dynamics...so should i use 4th gear instead?

thnks everyone 4 the help/advice
