Verifying Warranty Status?

Looking to pick up a E92 M3 maybe as soon as this weekend...

Was wondering if there is a number I can call to run the VIN and assure that the car is in warranty and not blacklisted in anyway?

I was able to call a local dealership's service department, give them the VIN, and have them check the history. This was with a Subaru, I can't imagine it being any different for a BMW.
