2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe Starts At $38,990, V From $62,990, On Sale This August
From Car Connection:
http://www.thecarconnection.com/mart...le-this-august So, is this a competitor for the 1? The article doesn't even mention BMW as in this class. Be interesting to see the track stats on the V. It's got to be fast with that engine. But $63K is pricy |

The sedan is the size of 5 Series (maybe just a touch smaller). This is likely a little bigger than an 3 Series coupe. I don't see that it's comparable to the 1 at all. The ATS is going to be Caddys smaller car, and if they make a coupe version of it that will be more between the 1 and the 3.

I doubt many people will be cross-shopping the 135 and CTS...

I would agree that there would be few folks looking at those vs. the 1 series. Maybe M% vs. CTS-V. They (the sedans) are incredible performers. My father owns a 2009 CTS-V and it is sweet. Took it to a HPDE last fall and was humiliating several Vettes, GT500s, and serious track cars. For #4100, it is a sweet handling machine.

You know, that was my initial reaction as well, but I've got to be honest with you, I'm going to test drive one, as well as the M1. I'm thinking one of those two will hold me over until the C7 Vette has been out a year or two, and I'll be 40 and can officially get started on my mid-life crisis. |

I've never owned an American car, and always been the type to say I never would. The last American vehicle I drove was a Humvee, and I'd prefer not to repeat the experience anytime soon. That said, I'm finally at the point where I'm willing to give US manufacturers (Ford in particular) a serious look when my family is in the market again.

The taxpayers will turn a profit on GM when they sell their equity stake next year. You should thank GM for doing a decent job with the money and getting you a return on it. |

And yet it will still not affect our pockets one bit.

The original "Origami-mobile" continues to get rounder. Still don't like it. Drove one for 3 months. Hated the wheel hop. Hated the diff whine. Hated the general feel it communicates that it is some sort of Taz-mobilethat is about to fly all apart when you get on it. Not at all refined or confident feeling. It's as if your constantly on the Rock-And-Roll-Rollercoaster. Entertaining for a bit but wears off quick. No arguement it's fast though.

You drove the previous generation based on your comments. The current CTS-V is worlds different. Quote:

twoturboz pics didn't load the first time I saw this thread - I'm also not really a fan of the pointy rear end. Maybe it looks better in person, I don't know.
I've gotta say, though, that is the best interior I've ever seen in any GM car, period. Normally I HATE GM's interiors - they're usually so low-rent, and every vehicle of theirs seems to take advantage of the same cheapo parts bin. It's like some horrible family trait. That cabin looks downright refined by comparison.

I like the interior and the centered exhaust. My dad test drove a sedan and I HATE the steering wheel it feels like im holding onto piping.

Keep in mind that a couple of those shots above were done with a fisheye lens or something. The point on the rear isn't nearly that pronounced in person.
