ZCP Stuck at Preparation Center--any one else?

Did Euro delivery of IB e92with ZCP & dropped off car in Munich on 4/17--(5 &1/2wks ago, but who's counting). Boat reportedly arrived in NYC on 5/12. Finally BMW website tracking showed it to be at the NJ Preparation Center several days ago. Meanwhile I have several people interested in my 2001 e92 coupe. In any event, I just called my CA to get an idea how much longer--I may have a bidding war on my hands which would be nice--and after checking he says there is a hold-up due to some sort of defective seatbelts buckles, not just limited to M3s. Supposedly the parts are to arrive in the next couple of days and I should have the car in another week or 2. Has anyone else heard about this?

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376913 You are not alone. There's not much in the way of solid information on the problem, but apparently 3 weeks of production of M3 and possibly other models were shipped with either a defective seat module for the electric seats or no seat module at all. All I know is that the dealer tells me maybe next week every week and BMWNA customer service won't tell me anything more helpful than "call the dealer."

Thanks...

So it seems it is a seat control module that is the probem rather than "seat belt buckle" as my CA told me. The other thread also indicated that other owners had been told of various problems including license plate brackets, etc. In any event, it appears we'll just have to wait it out.

Mine has been at the prep center since 5/8. It looks like it is still going to be a while. Some people on the X5 board heard that BMW was prioritizing the parts to the new 5 series, so we are in a long line

This is torture.

I'm curious though. If I took ED delivery, would I have an issue with a seat module? Wouldn't the car be 100% ready when it was at the Welt without being prepped further in the U.S.?

Oh well. I guess in the meantime I can spend another 50 hours researching the best radar detector/laser jammer combo.

It might be an intermittent issue. So, they probably just hold all cars and check them before delivery or in your case re-delivery.

I did Euro delivery and

the electric seats did seem to work while over there, so who knows what is going on.
