M3 Sedan
I have been looking at M3 since 2008 when it came out. However the price is higher than what I want to spend. I have a trade in worth about 10k. It seems BMW's lease program is well established as I've read on the forums so I feel a little more comfortable looking at a lease when normally I buy/finance.
Now with the lease, for a fairly well equipped sedan with navigation, etc but no crazy upgrades, I'm looking at MSRP around 67k max. With a good trade (10K) how much am I looking at per month? Any estimates? Or would you guys reccomend looking at the other finance options? |

Go with lease, now amazing rates on M3's, cheaper to lease than to finance, unless you take CPO... but not sure about E90 M3 lease rates though.

What about finding the sedan M3? Do dealers swap? I'm not waiting for an order for a lease. For a buy I'd order it custom, but for a lease I would take a secondary color choice etc.
What kind of numbers should I expect given 10k in trades on a 36 month lease 10k per year? |

M3 Sedan lease
I just leased my M3 Sedan list just under 70,000, got for 66,000. I turned my 335i back in, put 10,000 down, lease payments 879/mo including tax. I paid an additional 2000 in drive-off costs. Lease is better for me as I put it through my company.

10k down on the lease gets the payments reasonable, thats what I would look for. what about this BMW select and owners choice?
I like the control of a straight finance though..if I don't want it in 2 years, I sell it. |

I wouldn't get the sedan. I would buy the 335i or 335is to save money. IMO M3 shouldn't have the option of a 4 door.

So after putting $10K on this lease (effective worth of trade), what happens at lease end when you want to get another similar vehicle? Where's the $10K coming from then?
Not try to be a prick, but I would be concerned about all the eggs being in one basket....

If you lease this M3, after you trade in whatever you drive now...will you still have another car in case you go over mileage....and you feel like leasing is not for you 2~3 years down the road.

I think "afford" is a funny word. Sure I can finance it, but I'd rather not be in debt 60k when I can lease and be responsible for MUCH less after my trade in. However, GOOD point about the trade, I'd end up having to use cash to buy/lease the next one in 36 months. thing is I can get a 10k mile a year lease and be fine, I put 5k per year on my current cars.

Get a used one, do not put 10k on a lease.
Be willing to travel, look on Autotrader. Find a year old e90 M3 for sale that you like, fly there, and drive it home! I rather put 10k down on a used M3 then on a new lease! |

I did the same thing. Only about $6k up front, though. Ran it through my company. It's much easier from a tax standpoint to justify the lease as a business expense as apposed to capital investment. And yes I understand I'm leaving money on the table at the end of two years by leasing.
