Rough idle and 'check engine'

Random 'check engine' light and rough idle this morning. The car has felt much less powerful over the last few days. I'm running Dinan Stg II software. I've already had the bank 2 turbo replaced due to a wastegate issue. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning so we'll see. Wish me luck.

My service advisor just emailed me saying it was the "intake cam sensor" issue that they've fixed. Picking up the car later.

Anyone heard of this? Common?

took mine in today for same issue, plus other random engine problems. I'll let you know the results.

Picked the car up today. Drives good and pulls hard. New brakes too!

According to my advisor, they didn't have to touch the software.

I started the car today and it sounded so rough and the tach was jumping up to 1,500 rpm then down to 600 rpm and barely running. It smelled like the car was running very rich and the exhaust was smokey grey. The check engine light came on. BMW of San Diego didn't do their job - again! I drove it in limp mode straight to South County BMW, a different dealer here in San Diego. I will hear from them tomorrow so we'll see.
