So my ship Electra is departing Bremerhaven 22-Jul-2010 and arrives in Newark 04-Aug-2010

I'm really hoping for quick customs and prep-center!

Dunno... I just thought after I read what you wrote about your car being alone that ours were actually there keeping each other company....

Mine's supposed to have been sent to Newark as well.

I tried the EH harms website, both U.S. and German sites didn't seem to have an interface for end users that I could find...

I mean, is there a specific port/location that ships/processes ED cars quicker than other places?

Yes.

Dropping your car off in Munich will be quicker than any of the other European drop-off locations.

On the receiving end here in the States, east coasters obviously enjoy a quicker reception in Newark vs. the West Coast folks w/ Port Hueneme...however delays within the chain of transportation plus hold-ups at customs can have their way of changing that too.

Good to know I thought from your post we were on different boats. So that didn't make sense at first. Sucks the car waited 2 weeks before it ever shipped FML. Precious time wasted. I feel car-less

it's saying that it's "destination" is bremerhaven and was supposed to arrive 7/20 but it's currently 7/24... so i guess these sites don't provide real-time information. Thats no fun...

I can see Verrazano-Narrows Bridge from my terrace in Brooklyn...

The bridge marks the gateway to New York Harbor; all cruise ships and most container ships arriving at the Port of New York and New Jersey must pass underneath the bridge. I will be on the lookout

for all the ships we are keeping track of

If you can figure out time your ship is entering the NY/NJ Harbor,- I will snap a pic of it and post it here

I see what you mean...that does seem odd.
I have been using the "Vesseltracker.com" system that works on the "Google Earth" platform. It seems to suggest that even though we were loaded on the 22nd, perhaps we didn't depart until the 24th...See the yellow push-pins showing us pulling out of Bremerhaven yesterday afternoon and moving southwest toward the English Channel by evening...much further to the North than your site suggests.

I have heard that some of these tracking systems only work when a ship is a certain distance from land...

I will definitely do that for my own ship, but it's going to be weeks till then

I'll tell you,- ordering, tracking, waiting, anticipating the arrival of M3... so much to do, the whole process has been awesome... "Getting there is all the fun", once the M3 is here it'll be even more fun!
