i've been running an 18 OHM jb3 for a few months. a flash is safer, as it's not "tricking" the ecu into running more boost, etc. also, piggy backs have IAT decay, which means after driving hard on the car, the performance starts to suffer. GIAC also solves the throttle not opening all the way. overall, no matter what vendors, owners, or anyone says, a flash is safer in the long run. you get more power with less boost.

Those gains are ridiculous...
Though, that does include a DP and other bits. Very impressive nonetheless. Hoping to read some user reviews in the near future.

Looking at it in that context would be dumbing the whole concept of different flash tunes down to a different level.
The tunes are already dyno tested for a certain set of conditions. Timing and boost, among other things, are adjusted in order to efficiently and safely maximize power. The various tuning maps don't just "switch to different boost levels". If that's what you're looking for, wire a resistor in line with the MAP sensor. $5 at Radio Shack. |

You cant just throw boost at a car and consider it tuned. Actually getting the most out of an engine requires more time and adjustments to far more parameters than just boost.
Man this car really makes people forget what a real engine mod is doesnt it? |
