Poll: Do you plan on attending the Detroit Auto Show, and see the 1M in person?
I've been going to the Chicago show with my father the past few years but we might have to switch back to the Detroit show to get a look at the 1M.

I'm waiting for reports from *non-BMW* sources that exceed my expectations before I'm actually excited about this car. Like I've mentioned before, every report from independent sources have been underwhelming

Seriously, this thread is about people wanting to go to the Auto show and discussion around that. Quit ruining threads in the 1M forum! |

I had planned on going to the show but my pal that lived up there has recently moved away and I cant convince anyone to go with... I am sure it will be an awesome show though.
I am sure there will be plenty of pics following the debut. |

Sorry I wasnt clear. I was saying that BMW has halfassed this car so whats the point of seeing a car thats just a 135 with some M3 parts and a widebody?
Also BMW will probably just take the layer off of the fender. They'll just keep stringing people along. Its dumb and its not worth spending $30 to go an auto show to see a fender. If you're going for other reasons thats fine, but dont go just for this car, its a waste of cash. Go to what you think will be the better show. Its a bad time for auto shows. New York was really disappointing with only 3 or 4 worthwhile cars there. I cant believe that Detroit will be much different. He asked opinions and I shared mine. Its a forum, its full of opinions. Why is sharing a single sentence considered ruining a thread? I didnt see any thread ruining until you decided to call me out for no reason and try to start a fight. Please stay on topic, guys. There are plenty of threads you could voice your disappointment in, just not in this one.
Best regards, south

Live too far away, so no. But I do enjoy the buzz of having something unveiled live, cars or anything else I'm interested in. If you're there, as they're unveiling it, speech and all, you will get a bit of a childish kick out of it as you've waited and followed the hype

I seriously thought about it. tickets are dirt cheap from NY.
I totally would if the Motor City CCA chapter gained pre-show access to the unveiling. They need to get their sh*t together, and get on the horn with Larry Koch. Im sure BMW NA will work with the local CCA chapter. If it was happening at the NY show, we would definitely see it before the public.

I hear you.. I live in VA. I fly up to attend either detroit or chicago show with family every year (they live in MI). The chicago show has a better car show layout and better restaurants, like greek island, uno's pizza and smith&wollensy. If the 1m will be revealed there.. detroit might be worth attending this year. Pics and videos are OK but seeing something new in person is better.

I think my dad and I are going to go.
It is only about 3-4 hours from Indy, which will be worth it to see the 1M and the rest of the show as well....
