Can't decide: MR - LMB
I've asked tons of people, gotten 50/50 responses, made up my mind fifteen billion times, viewed hundreds of pictures, and simply can't make a decision.
I've been told not to slay myself over the decision but it is a pretty big decision! I feel like, especially with these two given colors, personality has a lot to do with it. I'm pretty laid back, easy going, so I feel as if the blue satisfies that side of me. On the other hand, the red is fiery, outgoing, flashy, the opposite of my personality; and part of me is itching for something new. I understand this post may be a lil ghey but maybe somebody could point out something I'm missing. I checked out both in person today and they both are fabulous in the light! Anyway, all insight is greatly valued. I have about a month before I order so it's not entirely a rush. Thanks fellas. Crap, wrong section. Go me. General forum please! ive had LMB on my e92 335xi m sport and LOVED that color.. i ended up trading the 335 in for a used m3 and the only color they had in stock was jerez black.. i can deffinitly say i dont love the jerez black as much as i did the LMB and if i had to choose again i would get either LMB or IB for an m3.. have you considered IB? that was originally my first choice if i was to order a new m3.. MR i cant say from experience but i have seen them in person a couple times and they do look nice but the blue just always keeps me coming back lol

<--- guess what my vote is.
I had the same problem - LMB, IB or MR. MR is very rare. See if this helps: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=429650 |

It's all about Melbourne Red.
Previous to the M I had 4 darker blue cars in a row. Blue is my favorite color. But the Melbourne red has a certain depth to it that I love. It also is a different color in different lighting. Here are some pics of my car if that helps to sway your decision |

i have MR but i voted for LMB...because most people whould be happier owning a blue car in the long run compared to a red car. for me, i walk and take public transit most of the time. so my car is more of a toy. hence the red for me. but if i had to daily drive, maybe a quieter color would be better. nevertheless, here is one pic of my car (along with others) that was taken 2 yrs ago when i first got it.

I voted LMB. I love MR (not as much as Imola but almost) but I'm just not a red car guy and think that it would get old after a while. Blue is still sporty and fits the M3 well, and it just seems like a color that would be easier to live with long-term.

I voted LMB. The red is a awesome color but something about the LMB on the M3 just looks good. It really shows the lines well and paired with some aftermarket rims its stunning.

modified coin toss.....
Get out a coin and get ready to flip it knowing that that your toss will decide it for you. If you're happy with the result, affirm it and don't look back. If you have qualms about the result, change your mind and go with the opposite. This always works because deep down, you already know the color you really want.
Do no repeat the toss. |

Man, that is a tough choice. I just picked up my M last night. Went back and forth for almost 6 months on what color. I feel your pain! I asked this question so many times. Just keep in mind that whatever you choose, you are stuck with it for a while. Not that either of your choices are bad, I like them both. You can't go wrong with any of them. But I do agree with EIS 9, deep down inside you have already made your choice. Good luck!!

Le Mans Blue without a doubt, Red doesnt make the m3 pop, red is nice color for say a mustang or corvette and looks awesome on an m3, just not THE COLOR for an m3 imo.

MR looks terrible in pictures and amazing on the road, definitely something that needs to be seen in person. I voted Le Mans because I like it better as a color, but Melbourne is a great color. I just don't like it as much as the reds of the past (Hellrot, Imola)
I've had two ridiculously bright red cars in my life so far (a hellrot E46 and a flame red Jeep), and one of the little-known perks of a red car is it always looks clean from 20 feet away. The color is so bright that it overwhelms any dirt that might be on it.
