This looks like a great mod but......... ive never heard anyone complain of rear end looseness or rigidity issues, im thinking this mod may be alittle overkill, plus i see that strong strut are saying Re the additional brace on the stock piece, but im thinking maybe this addition piece is what gives the stock unit its strenth, but one thing i can say is ive never been underneath my car and thought " these stock bars look thin and weak", they are infact subsatantial pieces of metal, mmmm great to see mods still being produced for our cars but cant help thinking this one may be a waste of money.......... someone correct me maybe?

I remember rolling underneath my car and using this as a hand brace and thinking that was unusually flimsy. I'm curious to what effect this would change our handling characteristics. I'm worried the extra rigidity would snap the rear end quicker vs our progressive oversteer

I don't really see the benefit to this one either.
You have to think of the direction of the applied force. Most of it is tensile & compressive.

I would better use a rear tower brace on this case.

Plus they look pretty beefy.
I wonder how much they weigh?

haha you're welcome!
Coupes are already pretty damned rigid from the factory anyhow. I think just a front strut-top brace is all that's needed from the manufacturer in terms of bracing, especially if no serious motorsports is attempted |

I may be wrong here, but I believe these pieces are actually under tension rather than compression. They help to tie the rear mounting point, which is braced rearward and is tied into subframe mounting points in the chassis, to the rocker panel area.
For reference, they weren't removed, or modified on the Z4MC race car. Granted, that car had a full cage in it, but even with the cage, these members remained on the car, but were not upgraded. Perhaps on street cars, not having full cages in them, this upgrade has merit. I sure would like to know what Strong Strut has to say about exactly why they decided to do this - cosmetics, or some proven structural imvrovement. I mean, it's not like there are a lot of Z4s in racing for R&D....
