Aftermarket exhaust changes M handling?
I just recently changed the muffler on the M. It seems that the car is a bit more jittery than before. Could this be because of the lighter mufflers? It weights less than the original for sure - the muffler. Thanks for input

I would say the difference is slight and also slightly noticeable

You simply CAN NOT feel 30-40 lbs (savings of a really light Ti cat back system over the somewhat heavy stock system) in a 3700 lb car (weight with driver) with 400+ hp. This is a 1% change. In our cars a talented and/or very observant driver either nearly drag racing or pushing at the track can feel 3-4 times that amount (say the weight of a small or normal person).

I agree that it would be difficult to notice, but the location of the weight loss might make it more noticeable than say 40lbs somewhere else. I'm thinking it's more of a placebo effect, but there will be less cornering force on the rear tires. Though very slight, it may explain the jittery feeling if it is indeed due to the lighter exhaust.
Do you notice the difference between a full tank of gas and a 1/4 tank? |

unless the mufflers you replaced the stock ones with are made out of carbon fiber i thought you'll feel the difference.

i recently decided to never take passengers in my car, hence cutting at least 100 to 200lbs of weight off my car. now it handles better than ever. j/k...
