Rear Dome Light
Anyone know what the slits are behind the rear dome light? Looks like it could be for a vent or a speaker grill, but of course it's neither. The entire assembly hangs down pretty low so I'm thinking there's something behind there.

Can't find the old thread from back in 2008 right now but I seem to remember it being for the alarm. Back then you could buy it as a dealer installed option and retrofit it.
I think someone did a DIY, and the microphones for glass breakage went there. If you don't have the factory alarm it is probably vestigial, like the 'clown nose' on our mirrors. |

If I recall correctly, Dodo is correct. It is a proximity sensor for the interior for the OEM alarm. If you don't have the alarm installed, then it's probably just empty inside.
