Gas Co. in Cali

Ok, much searchy and no findy a thread about gas in Cali...

However Ive read much discussion on what gas brand is the best for our n54/n55..

Main reason i really search this info is because i want to thwart any future HPFP failures as well as get best consistent quality gas out there. I am moving from Germany and a great gas company that has never broken my 2nd HPFP (on 40k kilometers with it)..
When i move to cali i have no idea what has been proven best for our car's engine.. Is Chevron with Techron 91 octane best? Shell V-power? 76?
All i know is that every state has different laws regarding additives the gas companies can add. I dont want to get into a discussion about the additives but want to know about the proven best California gas for our direct injection engines..

When i lived in Cali a long time ago, Shell and Chevron was the best gas around but also expensive..

Whats your experiences?

Total opposite, Shell is my 3rd choice, 76 and Chevron always make my car feel the best especially if you find a gas station with 100 octane

I can't personally because there isn't really a Costco gas station nearby yet. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...e-quality.html

I dunno, I think I saw Terry post saying he prefers Shell over all others. Could be wrong though but if it's Terry's first choice then its the best 91 we can get.

My friend, who drives an evo, says the evo community likes 76 because it has a higher ethanol content and makes more power.
