Paintshops Seattle Area?
Havent lived in the NW for a while, I'm out of touch with the good shops these days. Coming back to town for the holidays and want to get some accents painted on my car. Anyone know a damn fine paint shop to do so?

As for places to go, auto body shops are about as inconsistent as I've ever known an industry to be. The best places still do crap-ass work on occasion, and the horrible places can do good work if they want to. FWIW, I've had vehicles repaired at Queen City x2 (Redmond), R&R (Bellevue), Precision Collision (Bellevue), Haury's x2 (Lake City) and Showcase (Kirkland). All were poor experiences with sub-par results for the quality of the repair ranging from overspray (Showcase), dripping paint and mis-matched color (Haury's) to major structural flaws and cheap imitation replacement parts (Precision Collision). R&R simply tried to rip me off so I didn't actually get a repair completed there. Queen City did a quality repair both times but were total d-bags the second time and took about a week longer to get my car back because they had more important/fun things to work on (Ferrari's, Lambos, etc). If I had to risk it, I'd try Queen City again.

My car is white and I'm just trying to have some bits painted jet black. I wish the car was in LA, would make this a hell of a lot easier. I've used R&R, they did good work - I remember them being on the higher side. Is queen city the recommended place for ferrari and lambo or something?

Whatever you do, do NOT go to Haury's, I could tell you so may horror stories from that place. I've had the front end of my Subaru resprayed at Car Star in Edmonds, Bruce there is a great guy.
As with anything, make sure you do a very detailed QC of the paint work after its done and let the shop owner know you'll be doing so prior to accepting delivery. |

Gotta be honest, I'm not really instilled with confidence. Might have to go down to Portland for a paint job....

Queen City
Attended a Ferrari club tech session and came away very impressed with staff and the quality of the cars under repair. Porsches, Mazers, Jags. Have not had work done there myself so take my comment for what it's worth but I had previously heard good reviews prior to club tech session. I would go there.

Have you thought about vinyl? There's a Mark Wu guy around Seattle who has gotten good reviews. Probably going to go there for my window trim.
